BOD Incubator
Size chart BOD

The Osworld BOD incubator is a very popular instrument used to test the culturing of bacteria and other microorganisms. The basic difference between a general purpose incubator and BOD incubator is temperature. In a BOD incubator there is an arrangement for cooling and heating options. Hence it is also called a Cooling incubator. The BOD incubator is usually used at test temperatures of 10°C to 25°C.

Produced by the leading company Osworld, this equipment is vertical, front opening and a completely assembled unit. This plug to start chamber meets USFDA requirements as well as current ICH guidelines.

The product is CE certified and is manufactured in an ISO 9000 certified facility. The unit is constructed out of durable, double wall cabinet with polyurethane insulation, also known as PUF. The working chamber and outer cabinet are constructed out of stainless steel 304 grade matt finish. Low temperature is achieved by a refrigeration compressor which uses an eco-friendly refrigerant. The data storage features 1000/1500 readings, with FIFO mode. Also tamper-proof, non-editable trail and programmable e-value with data and time are available.

It has a temperature range of 10.0°C to 60.0°C with a control accuracy of ±1.0°C and maintains a chamber uniformity of ±2°C. Parameters are controlled by a Siemens PLC (Made in Germany) and are displayed on a colour touch screen HMI which is made in Italy. A motorized blower enhances air movement to achieve a uniform temperature within the chamber.

The data management software supplied with the incubator is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant with in-built features such as multi user level password protection which can create and assign user privileges. Electronic data is human readable and suitable for inspection for review. It shows real time summary along with current status of the equipment.

In addition, it indicates trends, stores alarms, logs process data with respect to time, and captures audit events.

Multiple chambers can be connected to one software in a LAN network while the data is transferred through Ethernet protocol.

Equipment operates on 230 volts AC 50 Hz power supply and for easy movability it is mounted on castor wheels.
